Great location, centrally located. The street apparantly is the hot spot / upcoming area for Russians to have a drink and eat.
some staff do not speak that well english. Poor water coming out of the shower.. no pressure.

The location is great for access to main tourist spots and there are many restaurants and cafes close by. The rooms are clean and quiet and the staff were generally quite helpful.
It's not as hard to find as some people have made out, although it could do with a more visible sign. Don't be put off by the shabby entrance! The breakfast is fine considering the price although there didn't seem to be anyone clearing up in the small dining area while we were there so we did it ourselves. One of the rooms we booked had an unacceptable smell of drains in the bathroom.

The location is awesome. Everything is clean and nice. The hotel interior is simple, but cozy and well maintained. The room was warm even though it was rather cold outside. Hotel staff is friendly.
Nothing at all.

The Hotel is located relatively central in St. Petersburg, just a block away from Nevsky Prospekt. There are three metro stations and all major buslines in the immediate vicinity. A walk to most downtown attractions will take you about 20-30 Minutes, but the walk itself already is very scenic. You might as well take a bus, that costs 21 rubles (approx. 50 cents). The staff is very friendly and helpful.
There is nothing to really complain about, except the room and breakfast are a bit simple. But then: It's cheap to stay. The shower had little water-pressure, if you want something to complain about.

The staff was professional and friendly. The breakfast included several choices; the air-conditioning was working perfectly and proved to be very useful; the rooms were well equipped and clean.
As in many other buildings/hotels in St.Petersburg, the whole building in which Elegy is located (5th floor) was in a very bad condition from inside - falling plaster, trash bag and cigarettes on the staircase, water leakages from the ceiling, dirty floors...A little care about the surrounding would make it more comfortable for the guests. Also, we have asked the breakfast to be served at 7am, 30 mins earlier than usually which was confirmed a day before. However, the breakfast was just started to be prepared at 7am which caused some stress when the taxi was waiting downstairs at 7.30am.

This hotel is located in the center of the city, making it very convenient for shopping and sightseeing. the rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds. the breakfast includes a variety of pastries, coffee, tea, and boiled eggs. the hotel is within walking distance of a main street and a McDonald's, making it easy to grab a quick bite.
The elevator situation can be inconvenient if you are carrying a lot of luggage, as it can only hold two people at a time.

Perfect location. The room #8 is quite cosy.
Wi-fi coverage is not sufficient. In the room #8 it's not stable.

Nice and helpful staff on reception.
We booked "Comfort Double Room" but what we had was more like Econom Double Room according to pictures in Booked.net. So either pictures don't represent the real things well or we were given a wrong room which is more likely! Girl on reception said she is given a reservations and room numbers and she can't do anything with that... It's also a bit loud. One can hear voices either from next rooms or from next floor where it's not a hotel and you can not ask them to be more quiet.

Good location, easy to get around and see all the sights. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was decent enough. the beds were quite comfortable, which was nice after a long day of walking around. the bathroom was clean too.
The room was tiny, with barely enough space to move around. the walls were paper-thin, and we could hear everything happening in the neighboring rooms.

The location is very nice, near Nevsky, metro and restaurants. There's a little kitchen with water and a microwave that you can use if you want.
Not all staff speaks english. The entry of the hotel seems a little scary, but don't worry, in the fifth floor, where is the hotel, you'll feel good. The breakfast is a little poor, but still nice.

The Hotel Staff was friendly and helpful. All rooms are clean but not all are like the photos in the web-site. The localisation from the hotel is super. We need the hotel only for slleeping so we have no problem with it.

The breakfast was a pleasant surprise, offering a variety of options to satisfy different preferences. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk from the main attractions and restaurants. The staff always had a friendly smile and were willing to assist with any questions or needs we had.
The walls were thin and we could hear the conversations and noises from the neighboring rooms. We had to ask for fresh towels as they were not changed during our stay.

Great location. Breakfast good. Staff friendly and helpful (some language problems but nothing major)
The lift to the hotel (on the 5th floor) is very small and only fits 2 people with luggage or 3 without.

Nice room (room No 1: air-conditioner, large bathroom, comfortable bed); the hotel is close to the city center but in a very quiet place; nice neighbours; courteous staff; will stay there again, when we are in SPb :-) Close to DatoBatono Grand Cafe (30, Rubinshteyna str.) - the best Georgian Restaurant - fantastic meal @ fantastic price. Dear Elegy Hotel, thank you very much and see you soon!
